Building Concepts 2000. On commission for GYPROC Head Office Bålsta, Sweden

Plasterboards, metal frames, text, space

An installation with its starting point in Ludwig Wittgensteins Philosophical Investigations, §203, where he resembles language as a set of roads. Arriving from one point makes an uttering familiar and recognizable, arriving from another point makes it unrecognizable and confusing. The installation makes use of words that is connected both to language based processes and concepts as well as concrete building activities. When moving in the corridor, the panels and the words are connected and disconnected, prefixes changes places and a word gains a new meaning when a corner is rounded. The words used: (Swedish translation further down) contexture, construct, cognition, fundamentally, mentally, position, pose, purpose, proposition, rebuild, recognition, reconstruct, restore, structure, substructure
